Early Years Free Education
All children once they reach the term after their 3rd birthday are entitled to receive 15 hours free education which can be taken flexibly throughout the academic year.
We are also part of a pilot scheme which delivers free education to 2 year olds, subject to terms and conditions.
Healthy Options.
As a nursery committed to the government initiative of '5' a day(portions of fruit and vegetables). We offer a range of fruit and vegetables for the childrens morning and afternoon breaks as well as wholemeal toast and toppings. We also offer a hot lunch and a cold tea during the day (there is a small charge for these) and we want to work together with the parents and carers to reinforce the message that healthy eating leads to a healthy life.
Delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage
We welcomed the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS), which came into effect in 2008. The curriculum brings together all the best bits from previous curriculums such as Foundation Stage and Birth to three matters. The EYFS is a more flexible document allowing children to advance at their own pace, whilst staff can observe them and facilitate where needed through careful planning. The document builds on child theories from iconic pioneers such as Piaget, Macmillian and Vygotsky.
Your child will begin a learning journal when they start with us and this will chart your childs progress through observations, photographic eveidence and constant dialogue between staff and your child. Each child is assigned a keyperson who will work closely with your child.
